Steve Nash of the Los Angeles Lakers proved on Friday night that he still has something left in the tank. While Nash has been injured for most of the season, when he has been able to play, he has shown that he is still good for around 20 minutes a game. On offense, he might not score as many points, but is still a good shooter who teams cannot leave open. He has his variety of off-balance trick shots around the rim and is extremely crafty. He is very efficient at using screens and understanding spacing within the system. His best trait remains his ability to make his teammates and getting them open shots.

For a player who was not expected to play the rest of the season, Nash was very impressive in their last game. He had 11 assists in 19 minutes, and even contributed three steals. He was one of two players with a positive rating on the Lakers in a game where several players struggled. He showed energy and the passion that we have become used to in watching him play.

It is clear that Nash still wants to be out on the court playing. On Friday night, he showed that when he is on the court, he can still contribute. He might not be able to lead an offense by himself anymore, but can still provide solid minutes. Nash works extremely hard to make sure that he is in good shape, and maintains a healthy lifestyle to produce at the highest level. His biggest problem has become injuries and being able to last a whole season. He won’t be expected to play every game, but if he can remain healthy down the stretch, he could be a valuable asset to a contending team next season.
