The Nuggets have been quite the disappointment this year. After losing their rock star general manager, Masai Ujiri, and their Coach of the Year winner, George Karl, in the offseason, the Nuggets struggled to find their identity at times this season. Here are five players that they could pick up to get things back on track for next season.

The Nuggets could really use a scoring presence down in the paint, and Gortat would be a very nice, affordable option.

Hawes is another solid big who could eat up minutes in the frontcourt. His stock has dropped a little since his trade to Cleveland, so he might come cheaper than Gortat.

3. Danny Granger

This makes sense on a lot of levels. First, Granger is still a solid player who can play big minutes for a team's second unit. Granger also has a history with coach Brian Shaw, dating back to his time as an assistant with the Indiana Pacers. Granger would be a very nice pick up for the Nuggets.

2. Evan Turner

The guy who was traded for Granger should be another major target. Evan Turner would be a solid piece to the young core the Nuggets already have. He would fit in quite nicely.

Gasol would be a piece that the Nuggets could bring in to make them an immediate contender for a playoff spot in the brutal Western Conference. If he could be had at the right price, Gasol would be the perfect addition to the Nuggets' frontcourt.
