The Memphis Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers met again tonight for the last time in the season. Ahead of tonight’s game, Memphis had already beaten Portland twice this season and is one of the hottest teams coming out of the All-Star break. Both teams were looking to add some momentum into their seasons.

The game started off pretty fast-paced, with the Trail Blazers taking the lead at the half. The star of the first half was without a doubt, LaMarcus Aldridge. His shots were on point due to the fact that he slowed down and really began to feel out his shots.

Timing was a big part of the Trail Blazers’ offense, which was a nice change of pace. The Trail Blazers seemed like they were in no hurry in their offensive approach. They really did a fantastic job of moving the ball around and making sure that when they decided to take the shot, it was the right shot to take and the right person was shooting it.

The Grizzlies, who usually have stellar defense, were not able to get comfortable in the game. They had a hard time keeping their eye on the ball and missed a lot of opportunities for turnovers. There were not many that mistakes on the Grizzlies’ part — just missed opportunities that really cost them some big plays.

I understand that the fast-paced games are what fans crave, but slowing down and being confident about when to shoot can definitely win games.
