We all knew it was only a matter of time before LeBron James started to branch out to other avenues of entertainment. There have been rumors of him starring in Space Jam 2, but so far, nothing has been confirmed. In the meantime, LeBron has been taking his talents to the studio. That’s right, the NBA‘s reigning MVP has released a rap freestyle…kind of.

Check out this leaked audio of Bron, where he’s doing his best Jay Z impression:

As you can hear, Mr. James is probably best served to stick to his day job as the world’s best basketball player.

I definitely feel for him, though. Leaked audio is not cool. Anyone who’s ever played an instrument, or anyone who can can sing a little, has made a recording of themselves at some point. Can you even imagine if those recordings were leaked?

When you’re one of the most popular athletes in the world, it’s got to be a far worse feeling. Obviously, because everyone is going to listen to you. Being embarrassed by a few friends listening to your crappy guitar solo, is nothing compared to having the entire internet listen to your weak freestyle game.

Let’s be clear — if James really wanted to record a rap album, he could. Technology can make any ‘artist’ sound respectable these days. But at the same time, it’s pretty clear that LeBron doesn’t have ‘it’ when it comes to rapping. People would buy a Bron rap album, but that doesn’t mean it should be made.

**Update** James has come out and said this whole thing was an April fools joke. Thank goodness.
