With so many teams entering the NBA playoffs, there can only be one true champion. Lets take a look at the top five teams that are most likely to contend for the championship.

One of the best teams in the league at both offense and defense, the Houston Rockets can be a very dangerous team in the playoffs. Together, Dwight Howard and James Harden brought the Rockets out of mediocrity and into elite status. Do not sleep on this team when the playoffs do arrive.

The Los Angeles Clippers are loaded at nearly every position and Blake Griffin is playing like a league MVP. With Chris Paul leading the way, there is no telling how far the Clippers can go in the postseason. The additions of Danny Granger and Glen Davis only makes them that much more of a threat.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder

Whatever the Oklahoma City Thunder lost with the trade of James Harden and the departure of Kevin Martin, they've gained a little back with Caron Butler. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook aren't bad either. When the Thunder have two players who can score in bunches like that duo, they'll always be title contenders.

2. San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are always a good example of what team sports are all about. They move the ball well, find the hot hand, and always play defense as a cohesive unit. With Tim Duncan being slowed down by age, the Spurs still find a way to get it done. Don't be surprised to see them win one more title in the Duncan era.

It would be foolish not to have the Miami Heat at No. 1 after they've won the last two NBA championships. Head coach Erik Spoelstra has the team leading the Eastern Conference once again, and with LeBron James poised to win another MVP, the Heat will be tough to take down.
