Indiana Pacers’ Latest Win Is Nothing To Be Excited About

The Indiana Pacers are in the midst of a battle with the Miami Heat for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. As a result, any win they can get becomes crucial, as the regular season is quickly drawing to a close. However, their latest win should raise concerns instead of reasons to be happy, as the postseason is only two weeks away.

The Pacers hosted the Detroit Pistons, and while they managed to get the win without further issues, the performance of the team in recent weeks is a cause for concern, considering the playoffs are drawing closer and closer. Indiana escaped what could’ve been a major upset and defeated Detroit by a 101-94 score, but the way things happened shouldn’t have the coaching staff – or the fans – thrilled, to say the least.

Paul George looked erratic, the interior play – on both sides of the court – wasn’t really a factor, and it seems like the team as a whole is lacking the chemistry they had to start the season. Several issues have affected the Pacers in recent weeks, and while the off-court problems could end up being a factor, the Pacers need to go through those issues, as they have bigger challenges ahead of themselves.

Judging on their performance against the Pistons, the Pacers need to work on several things before the end of the regular season. With tougher teams on the horizon – and a potential matchup against the Heat in the Conference Finals – Indiana needs to play at their best if they want to have a chance to fight for the title this season.
