The Miami Heat dropped their most recent game against the Brooklyn Nets, which made it a season sweep for Paul Pierce's newest team. It remains to be seen whether LeBron James and company are scared of their newest East Coast rival, but I am certainly rooting for a playoff rematch. Here are five rumors that will swirl around the Miami Heat until the season's end.
It seems more and more likely that LeBron James will stay in South Beach, and I cannot help but think that Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will follow suit.
Pat Riley does not have a whole lot left to prove, and I just have a feeling that he will try to go out on top if they happen to pull off the three-peat. I could be wrong here, but it just seems like he is about ready to ride off into the sunset and enjoy all his rings.
Jesus Shuttlesworth has accomplished a lot in his professional basketball career, but winning a third title would probably top everything else. It would be pretty hard to beat last year's Game 6 three pointer, but I think Allen will retire if if he is able to grab another ring this summer.
They trot Battier out as a Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant stopper, but you can tell that he is not the same player that he once was. Give credit to the former Dukie for landing in a pretty good location for the tail end of his career, but if he wins another title? Then you can bet that he will celebrate it with another dinner at Denny's.
Dare I say it, but Greg Oden finally looks healthy. He has even started a few games this season, and his contribution could be absolutely enormous against a team like the Indiana Pacers. That could make all the difference in the world for the Heat, and it just might result in their third championship in as many years.
