5 Teams LeBron James Should Sign With

Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat

Now that LeBron James can opt out of his deal with the Miami Heat this summer, let's take a look at the top five teams he should sign with before the 2014-15 NBA season begins.

5. Los Angeles Lakers

Yes, the Los Angeles Lakers aren't very good right now. They probably won't be any good for the foreseeable future as well. But, with LeBron James added to the mix of veteran future Hall of Fame players Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, the Lakers could return to dominance sooner than they had hoped. Plus, once Bryant and Nash do retire, general manager Mitch Kupchak will find it much easier to build around James than without.

Sometimes not changing teams is the best move a professional athlete could make. When Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and James all decided to sign with the Miami Heat in the summer of 2010, it didn't take long for James' championship dreams to become a reality. And with two years remaining on his six-year, 9 million deal he signed with Miami, there is no reason to think that James' bags are already packed just yet.

3. Cleveland Cavaliers

It devastated the city of Cleveland when they lost LeBron James to free agency in 2010. However, all could be forgiven if "King James" decides to return home where it all began. And with a solid mix of young players such as Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters on the Cleveland Cavaliers, James could be poised to win many more rings for years to come.

2. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have always had rivalries with LeBron James' teams throughout his career. It really didn't matter if he was playing with Cleveland or Miami, the Bulls flat-out hate playing LeBron. But with a void at small forward due to the trade of Luol Deng, James would fit right in with the rugged Bulls at that position. Besides, the Bulls are probably tired of fighting against James at this point.

It has never been hard to envision LeBron James in a New York Knicks jersey. Fans in Madison Square Garden have genuinely adored James and would love to see him finally play as a member of their team. With Phil Jackson now president of the Knicks, and if Carmelo Anthony is re-signed, blowing up the rest of the roster for James could be in order.
