The Houston Rockets have been an effective and efficient team this season, boasting the No. 2 scoring offense at 107.8 points per game to go with the 11th most efficient defense with a rating of 102.9. The Rockets have shown that they can win big games, but here are five reasons why this team will get it done on the biggest stage and win the 2014 NBA Finals.

The Rockets benefit from being coached by Hall-of-Famer Kevin McHale, who has given the team life on the offensive end with his schemes to utilize the four shooter around one post player approach in order to take advantage of his team's unique skill sets. A coach who knows how to set his team up for success is necessary in the playoffs, and Houston has just that.

The Rockets have two point guards that they will be able to go to in the playoffs depending on what they need in a given situation. Patrick Beverly is the team's starting point guard who can play a mean defense and rattle anyone else at the position, be it Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook. Beverly can shoot the three, but he is not a natural scorer. That's where the team can turn to Jeremy Lin, who is a dynamic, multidimensional scorer.

3. Depth

The Rockets have a very deep team, ranging from their starting five all the way through a productive bench that includes the likes of Jeremy Lin, Donatas Montiejunas, Omer Asik and Jordan Hamilton. All of these players serve productive roles on the floor, from scoring to defense to floor spacing. With a bench full of players who know what their roles are, the Rockets are as dangerous as anyone in the playoffs, and that will go a long way.

2. Shooting

The Rockets have a team full of players that can shoot the ball from deep. James Harden, Beverly and Chandler Parsons are each capable knockdown shooters in the starting lineup, and Lin and Montiejunas along with Hamilton can really put shots in off the bench. With a team full of lethal floor spacers, the Rockets will create matchup problems for any team they face in the playoffs.

The Rockets are not devoid of big names, as Dwight Howard and Harden are two of the biggest names in the NBA today and are arguably top 10 players in the league. Parsons has developed into a versatile scorer who can take his man off the dribble and finish at the rim or can step out, space the floor and knock down the deep jump shot. This core of star players is ready to carry a team to a title as long as they stick to the team's game plan.
