Thankfully, the most forgettable season in Los Angeles Lakers history is finally over. All of the injuries, controversies, pain and suffering is done, so it is time to move onto the offseason. Fans have been looking forward to the summer all season long, as plenty of changes are likely to occur. The bottom line is this team must equip themselves to be at the very least competitive next season until the 2015 free agency period.

This question has been addressed numerous times over the course of the season, but no definite decision has been made. Is Steve Nash worth keeping on the roster, or should Los Angeles use the stretch provision on him? Also, if retained for next season, is it worth playing him over the other point guards?

Ever since the late, great Dr. Jerry Buss passed away last year, there has been no real sense of who has the final say regarding basketball decisions. Despite having the worst season in team history, every member of the Lakers is beloved by fans and media personnel. How? I'm not too sure. Unfortunately, the majority of these players will not be present next year, so management must decide who is worth re-signing. Free Agents will include: Nick Young, Pau Gasol, Jordan Hill, Jordan Farmar, Wesley Johnson, Kent Bazemore, Jodie Meeks, Xavier Henry, Chris Kaman, Ryan Kelly and MarShon Brooks.

It's no secret Mike D'Antoni is on the hot seat headed into the offseason. The question is, though, how hot is the seat? Reports have made it seem as if management has been wavering back and forth on the decision for weeks now. One week reports will claim D'Antoni is safe, but the most recent report has stated the Lakers are looking for a peaceful, mutual parting. We'll have to wait and see. Only time will tell.
