The 5 Biggest Rumors Surrounding the Oklahoma City Thunder Right Now

OKC Thunder Rumors

The Oklahoma City Thunder are all set to tip off their series against the Memphis Grizzlies, but there are still a few rumors floating around the team despite their success this season. Kevin Durant has been the runaway MVP, but I still have my questions about whether this is a squad that can get out of the Western conference. Here are the five rumors that truly stand out for me, and feel free to hit me up on twitter if you disagree.

5. Scotty Brooks Is Coaching For His Job

This is just my opinion, but I just think that Brooks' chances have run out. He has had quite a few, and this postseason might just be his last straw. Let's hope that he grasps it; he might not get many shots after this.

4. They Will Never Admit To Regret

The James Harden trade was probably one of the biggest basketball blunders of the last decade, and it will not soon be forgotten by me. Sam Presti probably thinks that folks will just let this slide after enough time passes by, but he is going to be dead wrong about that.

3. Kendrick Perkins Needs To Go

We have all seen the numbers, and to be honest they are not pretty. Kendrick Perkins might be close to hanging up his sneakers, and it would not surprise me to see him retire after this season. The Thunder would honestly be better off without him, and that is even taking into account all the little things that he does in the locker room.

2. Russell Needs To Reign It In

We all know that Russell Westbrook's shot selection is quite questionable at times, and if he cannot reign it in then the Thunder could be looking at an early playoff exit. Something tells me that would not bode well for Scotty Brooks. It will be interesting to see if Westbrook works out with Kevin Durant in the long run, but something tells me that this might end badly.

We saved the most uncomfortable rumor for last, and this was hopefully to save a couple Oklahomans from a minor heart attack. We all know that Durant and James Harden are great friends, and the rumor has been floated out there that the Durantula might make a return to the state that he went to college in. Only time will tell, but Durant's fate is absolutely tied up with the fate of the Thunder franchise.

Kristaps Porzingis Soars For Epic Put-Back Dunk

We all remember draft night and the vicious boos that Kristaps Porzingis heard from New York Knicks fans. Well, Porzingis has been nothing short of phenomenal thus far for New York, and is as polished as anyone could have hoped he would be at the young age of 20. Porzingis' epic put-back dunk against the Oklahoma City Thunder this evening proves how athletic and aware on the court he truly is.

Hornets Inexplicably Allow Durant Free Dunk

While I understand that Oklahoma City Thunder SF Kevin Durant is physically intimidating when driving the lane, the Charlotte Hornets should be ashamed of themselves for the defensive effort they put forth during this play. I mean, they didn't even try. The Hornets have made some solid strides this season, but boneheaded mental collapses like this will prevent them from continuing to build momentum.
