Ever since Mark Jackson landed in Oakland, he has transformed the Warriors from perennial loser to a legitimate championship-caliber team. But what must the Warriors do to maintain their championship edge? Let's find out.
When Bogut is in the game, the Warriors are instant contenders. The problem is that he often gets injured at the wrong possible time (playoffs). The Warriors must ponder if Bogut is the right man in the middle, or if the team needs to look for another big man to pair up with David Lee, one that can actually stay healthy.
The Warriors exercised the fourth year of his rookie deal for next season, but the Warriors' front office must begin to ponder this summer if Thompson is worthy of a big contract in 2015.
Unlike Thompson, the Warriors are holding out on exercising the fourth-year of Harrison Barnes' rookie contract. All signs indicates that they will, but there are no guarantees.
Stephen Curry blasting off into superstar status is the main reason why the Warriors are all of a sudden championship contenders. But if the Warriors lose in the first round as expected and have another first-round flameout next season, don't be surprised if you hear rumblings out of the Bay Area about Curry wanting out. Which is why it is critical that the Warriors beef up his help this offseason.
Jackson has done a fantastic job in turning around the once-morbid franchise, but rumors are going around that if the Warriors get thumped out of the first round this season, Jackson will be canned. I don't know how true that is, but Jackson should be concerned about his future in Oakland.
