The Washington Wizards are getting ready to bounce the Chicago Bulls out of the playoffs, and you can bet that I will be at game five with bells on. Here are five rumors floating around the Wizards right now, and most of them are fairly positive which is a rare thing for DC.
This is the most unfortunate rumor out there. I think that Sam Cassell is the man for this job; I love the way that he communicates with the young guards of this team and they are clearly building up positive work habits together.
They say he is an old soul, but fortunately for the Wizards this shooting guard is still in a young body. He looks more like Ray Allen every day, and that is something that should make DC sport fans happy in their nether parts.
He is not shooting the ball incredibly well, but his decision making has been amazing in this series so far. There are plenty of of other shooters on the team that Wall can get going by setting them up with his pin-point passes.
Honestly, and I know it sounds crazy, but I think the Wizards would rather play the Hawks than the Pacers in round two at this point. Either way though, I like DC's chances of getting to the Eastern Conference Finals against Miami.
You can tell that this team kind of crept up on the city. They had the worst home record during the regular season when compared to the rest of the playoff teams, but they did a fantastic job of protecting the home floor in game 4. The energy in the stadium looked electric, and I really wish I could have been there.
