According to the Pelicans' Twitter account, team owner Tom Benson stated that "...the New Orleans Pelicans fully support the decisions made today by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and will fully support his recommendations moving forward." It comes as no surprise as the league's block leader took the next step in becoming elite after finishing the year with a season average of 20.8 points and 10 rebounds. Before Davis came along, the Pelicans were counting on Eric Gordon to be their centerpiece, but injuries kept him limited. General manager Dell Demps recently announced that he is happy with the team's performance during the final games of the season and that with a healthy, core squad, the Pelicans could be in playoff form in 2014-15. Eric Gordon trade rumors have been lingering around the NBA all year, but does Demps' statements mean that Gordon will be returning to New Orleans as well?

The 2014 NBA D-League All-Star had been awaiting a call up by New Orleans all year. Stuck in NBA limbo, Jackson was averaging just about 30 points per game (setting a D-League single game scoring record with 58), before signing with a team in Turkey. The Pelicans still have rights to Jackson and even say he's a team asset. However, rumor has it that they are still unsure on signing him for the 2014-15 season.

Monty Williams was criticized all year long for his poor coaching, aka terrible second-half adjustments. However, GM Dell Demps and Head of Basketball Operations Mickey Loomis seem to think that he would be a satisfactory leader if presented a healthy squad. The Pelicans battled injuries all year -- missing key players Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday most of the season did not help the situation. Williams' return is rumored to be likely.
