What a strange world we live in these days. Drake was recently spotted using a lint roller while sitting courtside at a Toronto Raptors game, and now several days later, the team is giving out lint rollers with the rapper’s logo on them.

This is indeed real life. Take a look:

Fans sitting in certain seats have a voucher good for one free Drake-themed lint roller that they can claim after the game.

Is this a genius business/marketing move? Or just plain silly?

It’s really somewhere in between. It’d be one thing if we were talking about a product other than a lint roller, but let’s face it — they just get crap off your shirt. Essential item? Yes. Cool item? Not so much.

Either way, it’s good to see the Raptors getting a lot of love lately. The team up North finally has things cooking after a long stretch of bad basketball. The whole city is way into the NBA Playoffs, as there’s been about 10,000 extra fans outside the Raptors arena during each home game.

For a country that’s all about hockey, it’s a good change of pace to see Canadians getting engaged in basketball.

As for the team’s chances of moving on in the playoffs, it won’t be easy. Brooklyn is a tough veteran team and this first round series is likely headed for seven games. A date with the defending champs awaits the winner.
