Atlanta Hawks Wisely Bringing Back Old Logo
Despite going 38-44 in the regular season and making the playoffs each of the last six seasons, the Atlanta Hawks are getting ready for the franchise’s biggest game in a long time on Thursday night. The eighth-seeded Hawks have a chance to knock off the top-seeded Indiana Pacers at home. It’s safe to say that Phillips Arena will be rocking.
Not only will the fans in attendance be treated to some great action on the court, they’ll also be taking home a free Hawks t-shirt. No, not just any t-shirt. They’ll all receive a throwback/new Hawks shirt featuring the team’s classic logo:

As you can see, Atlanta is bringing back the team’s old logo (used until mid 90s) and putting a new-age spin on it. It’s a way to pay tribute to the Hawk greats of the past, while also giving the fans something cool for a game six souvenir.
Going forward the updated throwback logo will be used as the team’s secondary logo. There’s no word yet if they’ll also create new jerseys, but you’d have to think so if they’ve already gone this far…
If the Hawks can move on past the Pacers, you have to like their chances against the Wizards. For a season that looked grim at one point, fans couldn’t really ask for much more this time of year. The future in the ATL is no doubt bright.
