The Houston Rockets do not have a first round pick in this summer's draft, and so you might be surprised to see a slideshow about it. What you did not take into account is Daryl Morey and his willingness to make a trade at any moment. I would especially say this after their disappointing first round exit after Damian Lillard's DAGGER!
Carmelo Anthony has not indicated whether he is going to leave town or not, but we will have to see how his recent dinner with Phil Jackson worked out. The cards now seem to be in Steve Kerr's hands, but how he will play them remains to be seen.
This would probably require trading Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik, but they could find their way back into the late first round if there is a rare talent who slips late. Morey is responsible for what has been called the "worst draft pick ever" in Royce White, and so we all know he is not afraid to take a gamble.
Sometimes, a foolish team like the New York Knicks will offer a trade during draft day that is just too dumb to pass up on. Since Phil Jackson is now in the Big Apple, those days are probably over, but what about Joe Dumars in Detroit? Oh wait.
James Harden is a fantastic offensive player, and that should keep him in the top 10 of the MVP conversation for the next couple years. To be fair though, he is still a work in progress on the defensive end. He still needs some more help in that regard on this roster.
It would not shock me if certain Rockets were not totally happy with Dwight Howard's fit on the team. I think that they have handcuffed themselves for the foreseeable future until that they can get the Dwightmare out of there. Familiar story line? In the end, I think another Texas guy, Kevin Durant, could be the one who brings them all the way back to the promised land.
