Let's cut right to the chase. The Milwaukee Bucks were horrible in 2013-14 and will not be any good for the foreseeable future. But that does not mean that there aren't rumors flying around the organization. Which are the biggest? Let's find out.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (try saying that name three times) has a bunch of potential, and he showed flashes of that potential during the season. The "Greek of the Midwest" should have ample opportunity to take his game to the next level next season as the Bucks will again have nothing to lose.
Playing on a team that is not going anywhere and in a city considered by many as an NBA wasteland, it should come as no surprise that Brandon Knight is rumored to want out of Milwaukee. He could get his wish this summer as the team continues to rebuild from the ground up.
All signs points to O.J Mayo no longer being in a Bucks uniform next season. And why should they bring him back? He was out of shape and acted like he just did not care about playing for the team. So it would be wise for Milwaukee to find him a new home.
Actually, this is not a rumor; it just became true. Herb Kohl, the team's owner since 1985, sold the Bucks to two local hedge fund billionaires for 0 million. Even better is what the old owner and the new owner are pledging to the city.
The new owners have pledged to put up 0 million towards construction of a new arena that will replace the very outdated BMO Bradley Center. As part of the sale, former Bucks owner Herb Kohl will put up 0 million from proceeds from the sale towards a potential new arena. That may get the ball rolling, but the team still must convince the city to chip in taxpayer money to pay the rest of the tab. That remains to be seen.
