NBA Rumors: Deron Williams Reportedly ‘Unhappy’ With Brooklyn Nets
How many more times will Deron Williams be asking for a trade, or be rumored to be unhappy in his career? I’d love to make an over/under on that and see what the number would be set at.
Utah Jazz fans know a little bit about the demanding of a trade by Williams, and while Brooklyn Nets fans may not have to feel him demand a trade just yet, he is rumored to “be unhappy.” Now, with that being said, what exactly is Williams unhappy about right now in Brooklyn?
This past season, Williams averaged 14.3 points, 6.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. All of those numbers are down from his career, and we’ve seen him struggle to take over at times when his team needs it most. If he’s unhappy because his team just got knocked out of the playoffs by the Miami Heat, well, he didn’t really help that cause out too much.
Now, if there’s something happening where Jason Kidd is simply attempting to get the ball to other players over Williams, that makes sense as well, unfortunately, for the frustrated point guard. In the 2014 NBA Playoffs, Williams shot 39.5 percent from the field and averaged 14.5 points per game to go with 5.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds.
The worst of all is that in the previous series against the Heat, his struggles were brutally obvious. He had a game where he scored zero points; in their one win, he shot 27.3 percent from the field, and he had only one game with more than seven assists. Overall, he just simply wasn’t the leader that the Nets needed him to be.
If Williams demands a trade, I’m not sure what exactly the Nets get back in return, but at age 29, we should be seeing far more production from a player who we know is capable of playing at an All-Star level.
Nets fans have to be disappointed in the lack of production from their point guard, never mind the fact that the team just bowed out in tough fashion to a team that they owned during the regular season.

Mock draft after mock draft has Rondae Hollis-Jefferson going to the Toronto Raptors, but such a pick would not be wise for the franchise to make. Read More
