Every once in a while, a beautiful face comes along and melts the internet. Yesterday, at the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery, Mallory Edens did exactly that.
The 18-year-old daughter of Milwaukee Bucks new owner Wes Edens, Mallory made a short appearance as the representative of her father’s team. While her beauty wasn’t enough to earn the Bucks the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2014 NBA Draft, it was certainly enough to earn her some quick internet fame.
In a matter of hours, her Twitter following jumped from around 250 to more than 26,000. Her face could be seen all over social media, whether it was Facebook, Twitter or some obscure site that only hermits know about. Basically, a few minutes in the spotlight had turned Edens from an unknown name to an instant internet star.
Her Twitter following currently sits at 34.6K, so her 15 minutes is still paying dividends. Now if only she’d actually start tweeting – she only has 15 tweets at this point.
The Bucks may not have come away with the top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but they’re the real winners of the NBA Lottery. Not only did their owner’s daughter become an overnight sensation, but the team might actual have found a few fans because of her beauty. It took a gorgeous 18-year-old to get the job done, but the Bucks have finally found a way to gain some semblance of relevance among the NBA community.
Who knew the NBA Lottery could be so entertaining?
