The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the middle of their Western Conference FInals series with the San Antonio Spurs. After tying the series up at 2-2 on Tuesday night, it is clear that this team will be NBA Championship contenders for years to come. Even though we know the Thunder's core players -- Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka -- are returning, let's predict the Thunder's 2014-15 starting lineup.
Steven Adams has outplayed Kendrick Perkins in the 2013-14 NBA Playoffs. The OKC fanbase made a solid push for Adams to start this year, but Scott Brooks had other plans. Adams has done more than enough to earn his spot in the starting lineup for next season.
This is one of the three no-brainers for the Thunder's starting lineup next season. Serge Ibaka returned from an scary injury to prove health won't be an issue, so we know he'll be returning to wreak havoc in the paint on both ends of the floor.
He's the league MVP -- enough said.
With Thabo Sefolosha in a contract year and falling out of the rotation in the playoffs this year, Jeremy Lamb has stepped up and appears to be ready to take over as the starting shooting guard next season. Reggie Jackson and Caron Butler (if re-signed) will be the Thunder's go-to guys coming off the bench.
Even though we know Russell Westbrook is returning, rumors are floating around that the Thunder will dismantle their roster if they fall short of an NBA Championship. I'm a firm believer that those rumors have no chance of happening and Westbrook's role will even be increased going into next season.
