It seems like year after year people decide to antagonize LeBron James until he erupts. James is known for a being a mild-mannered guy off the court and a person who doesn’t engage in trash talking while on it. Some people may see it as a weakness, but that’s just the way James is.
During Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, James sat on the bench for majority of the contest, but when he was on the floor it was too late for him to be in sync within the game. The internet exploded as Lance Stephenson blew into James’ ear as if he was trying to find a way to sway his prom date. I don’t think Stephenson got under James’ skin, but antics like that can make James erupt for a big game.
In the playoffs two seasons ago, Danny Granger thought it was okay to annoy the King, and James eventually put up a 40 point, 18 rebound, nine assist performance. It’s best to let James play with no extra motivation. He is already the best player in the world, and it makes absolutely no sense to give him more incentive to kick you in the rear.
The Indiana Pacers may have found themselves in hot water dealing with a ticked off James. The Miami Heat team knows what is at stake tonight in Game 6, and James & Co. will be more than ready. If James erupts for a big game, I hate to say it but I told you so. Whether it is a triple-double or a 40-point game, expect to see James to play with a gigantic chip on his shoulder.
The Pacers had their chance to laugh about Game 5, but James and Heat will have the last laugh that will send the Pacers on the banks of Indy Lakes for a nice time of fishing.
