It appears that Lance Stephenson's days with the Indiana Pacers are numbered. Some even think it's a foregone conclusion that he'll leave town and sign elsewhere as a free agent. But where?

There are very few who think that Stephenson will end up back with the Pacers. It seems unlikely he'll re-sign given all the issues in the Indiana locker room, but never say never in the world of sports.

The Mavs are a team you'll see linked to Stephenson, but he really doesn't make too much sense for them. Yes, they've got the money to throw at him. But where does he fit in with Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon?

3. Chicago Bulls

Chicago certainly needa a 1A type of player. Stephenson fits the bill in terms of talent, but his 'style' doesn't really mesh with what the Thibodeau-led Bulls do. But if there's a coach who could get him to straighten up and fly right, it's Thibs.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

You know the Lakers are going to make at least one big move this offseason, and signing Stephenson to play PG/SG could be one of them. But of course there's the whole issue of him gelling with Kobe. While a partnership could work, there are certainly players who would be better fits in L.A. than Stephenson.

Charlotte Hornets

At this moment the Hornets make the most sense for Stephenson, and it's not even close. MJ's team needs scorers and there's also plenty of cap space to bring the talented SG on board. Stephenson could be a star in Charlotte, if he gets his head on straight. The GOAT would be just the person to mentor the 23-year old.

Problem with Lance going to the Hornets is he isn’t a star player. He’s a decent number 2 and an exceptional number 3 player on a team. A team with Stephenson as the main guy is destined for mediocrity.

    • Jae

Well, If he goes to Charlotte he will most likely be the number two guy and at least the number three guy. Al Jefferson is by far the number one guy and as of now Kemba Walker is a solid number two. Stephenson will provide Charlotte with the scoring it needs that will let Kemba play more of a traditional pg position and move the ball around instead of having to look to scoring as much as he does now. If Charlotte brings Lance in then drafts a knock down shooter like the kid from Michigan at SF, They will be on to something.

  • Jared Doyle

Lance can’t be the number one option anywhere, he has to be number 2. A team like the Bulls would benefit from his offense, especially if Rose comes backs healthy. Could be a nice 1-2 punch at the guard position for them.
