The Houston Rockets turned out to be one of the most disappointing teams of the season. After their superstar acquisition of Dwight Howard, expectations were high for the Bayou City. But for the second consecutive season, they were put to sleep in the first round of the playoffs. GM Daryl Morey is already working hard in the offseason, taking care of these five priorities.

Head coach Kevin McHale preaches a free-flowing, fast-tempo offense, but if you've seen the Rockets play, he doesn't offer too much advice defensively. Daryl Morey will need to strengthen the coaching aspect by hiring a defensive coach alongside McHale. Early rumors have the Rockets looking at former Cavs coach Mike Brown and former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins.

It's no secret, the Houston Rockets were one of the worst defensive teams this season. Outside of Patrick Beverley and Dwight Howard, no one can step up to defend at a high level. Daryl Morey is more than aware of this and is looking for the classic 3-and-D player that can go up against the Lebron James' and Kevin Durant's of the league. Trevor Ariza and Thabo Sefolosha are two options Morey is looking at.

3. Consistency at the Four

Terrence Jones showed lots of potential and talent this season, showing that he can be a long-term solution to the ever-present power forward problem in Houston. But realistically, Houston wants the championship now, and doesn't have time for Jones to develop a consistent three pointer or defense. Their two options are to either wait on Jones, or go out and find themselves a consistent option.

2. Getting Rid of Jeremy Lin and/or Omer Asik

Next season, Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik will be owed a whopping million. As good as Lin and Asik have been as back-ups for the Rockets, they should be considered thieves for taking so much money. If Daryl Morey is serious about acquiring himself a third superstar, don't expect to see Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik back at the Rockets training camp in September.

Every offseason move, big and small, will be a part of Daryl Morey's master plan: finding that third superstar. While Dwight Howard and James Harden make an amazing 1-2 punch, Morey knows the best teams have a third superstar. Carmelo Anthony is said to be extremely interested in the Houston Rockets, and Morey will absolutely want to reel in the Knicks superstar.
