In order to contend next season, the Memphis Grizzlies will have to take care of these five priorities in the offseason.
Calathes was doing a great job for the Grizzlies before he was suspended. If he can return, he could form a good late-game duo with Mike Conley that is capable of both handling the ball and putting points on the board. Making sure he can come back should be a top priority in Memphis.
Gasol has been one of the most versatile centers in the league for the past few seasons, which should make it an easy decision for the Grizzlies to lock him up in a long-term extension in order to keep him in Memphis for years to come.
Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger came to Memphis with new ideas on both offense and defense. The team eventually reverted back to its old ways during the season, making it important for the Grizzlies figure out exactly what kind of schemes they are going to permanently use during next season. Otherwise, it could lead to poor chemistry between teammates and more losses overall.
Randolph has been the heart and soul of this Grizzlies team. Randolph has carried Memphis on his back with his consistent scoring and rebounding. If the Grizzlies want to have success this coming season as well as the next few years to come, then it would be smart of Memphis to sign him to a new deal.
The Grizzlies are not a perimeter shooting team, and that is starting to become more and more of a problem. If the Grizzlies could add to the collection of shooters they put together last year, then it would be much easier for the big men on the team to do their own thing.
