Zach Randolph has the ability to opt out of his contract this summer and become a free agent. Even if he does, there is a strong likelihood he returns to Memphis, but here is a breakdown of five potential landing spots for the two-time All-Star.

The Jazz are going to be a dark horse team in NBA Free Agency this summer as they will have money to spend and a young core to help attract potential free agents. If Randolph opts out, the Jazz are one of the few teams that could offer him the kind of money he wants and pairing him with Derrick Favors, Trey Burke and potentially Gordon Hayward could make Utah a playoff team next season.

The Wizards are building something in Washington and with a solid core of John Wall, Bradley Beal and Nene already in place, the Wizards are an attractive destination for free agents. Washington wants to keep Marcin Gortat, but if he leaves in free agency, it could set its sights on Randolph as an alternative.

3. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls are another dark horse candidate for Randolph, but if they can clear cap space by releasing Carlos Boozer and making a couple of trades, then bringing Randolph to Chicago is a possibility. The Bulls need scorers and Randolph can do just that. He averaged 17.4 points per game last season. A potential grouping of Randolph, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah would make the Bulls a legit contender to win the Eastern Conference.

2. Houston Rockets

The Rockets have some maneuvering to do in order to free up cap space, but Houston is determined to add a third star to team with Dwight Howard and James Harden and Randolph fits the bill. He and Howard would be a nightmare inside and Houston’s array of three-point shooters are a perfect compliment. A trio of Howard, Harden and Randolph would be very formidable, making Houston an instant title contender.

At the end of the day, Memphis is still the most likely destination for Randolph. He has spent five seasons with the franchise and has been part of building a perennial playoff team. Memphis has made four consecutive playoff appearances and has back-to-back 50 win seasons with a core of Randolph, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley Jr. Talks of a long-term deal have already begun, so it would be a surprise to see Randolph play anywhere else next season.
