The NBA has a lot of great upcoming teams that are getting ready to contend for a title. Here are five teams that are very close and are one major move away from being contenders.

The Grizzlies came very close to defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in seven games in the 2014 NBA playoffs, and their group of players is no joke. Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley make up a talented and experienced core capable of playing on both ends of the floor. A reliable lights-out shooter in the starting lineup would make this team a true title contender.

4. Golden State Warriors

The Warriors had a lot of success last season behind their shooting backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and the success should continue for years to come. However, if the Warriors want to be considered true contenders, they need a post presence that can score in bunches and spread the floor. If the Warriors were able to keep their shooters and acquire Kevin Love in a trade, they would be title contenders.

3. Houston Rockets

The Rockets have two superstars in Dwight Howard and James Harden, and are looking to acquire a third. The Rockets have a young and talented core, and a scoring stretch forward like Carmelo Anthony or Chris Bosh would put this team over the top. Houston would be a true powerhouse in the Western Conference.

2. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have one of the best defenses in the NBA, and led by Joakim Noah, this team has unbelievable heart and determination to win. The problem is that the Bulls simply do not have enough offense to win games down the stretch. If the Bulls could get back a healthy Derrick Rose and pair him with Anthony along with Noah, then this Bulls team would be considered the favorite in the Eastern Conference.

The Pacers had the best record in the Eastern Conference this season and took the Miami Heat to six games in the Eastern Conference Finals despite all of the locker room struggles the team had. If the Pacers could land a true point guard who can create for others and keep the ball moving, then at least the on-court problems would go away. As long as attitudes could be kept in check, this team would be a true threat.
