Shaun Livingston produced one of his better seasons in a while last year, playing an important role for a playoff team. He may not be the rising star that he once was, but he still has enough talent to help a team win. He would be a nice option for the Los Angeles Lakers next season, giving them versatility from the guard position.

Livingston is a very efficient offensive player, who possesses enough playmaking skills to still run the point. He is able to handle the ball and direct the offense, and can beat players off of the dribble. While not a very good outside shooter, he uses his size and length to get his shot off in the paint. He is also a willing passer and understands his role on the team.

Defensively, he may not possess the quickness that he once had, but he is still able to stay in front of most players. His long arms help him average more than a steal per game and make it hard for shorter guards to find a comfort zone.

He would also fit nicely with the veterans already on the roster. He provides a different kind of player who is willing to work hard and do what is necessary for his team to win. He can come off the bench to lead the second unit, or even slide into the starting lineup when need be.

This kind of versatility can come in handy, especially on an injury-prone team like the Lakers. He would add size to the guard position and give the team another ball-handler. He would also be a cheaper option who can play big minutes if need be. The Lakers should consider Livingston in the offseason to strengthen their backcourt.
