The Los Angeles Lakers were happy when the 2013-14 season came to an end. Injuries and a scotch tape lineup lead to the team compiling the worse season in the history of the storied Laker franchise. So what will the team do to get back into the winning frame of mind next season? Here are my five bold predictions for the Lakers this offseason.

5. Pau Gasol Will Stay in the Purple and Gold

5. Pau Gasol Will Stay in the Purple and Gold

Despite many pundits urging the aging Gasol to go elsewhere, Kobe Byrant and the front office will convince the big man to stay, promising him a return to the playing style that made him a force and a better team surrounding him next season.

4. The Lakers Will Sign Mario Chalmers

4. The Lakers Will Sign Mario Chalmers

With Chalmers having played his way out of Miami, and the Lakers in need of a capable backup point guard for a discounted price, Chalmers will certainly fit the bill. Chalmers can spark life in the second unit, while also being capable of hitting big shots at key moments. Look for Chalmers to be wearing Purple and Gold next season.

3. The Lakers Will Pick Up Trevor Ariza

Ariza will be a great fit for the Lakers, as he can defend, hit open shots, take it to the hole, and play well alongside Kobe Bryant. The Lakers would be fools not to bring him back to the West Coast.

2. Greg Monero WIll Leave Motown for Hollywood

2. Greg Monero WIll Leave Motown for Hollywood

The Pistons have shown no interest in re-signing the talented power forward, and with the Lakers flushed with cash and looking to rebuild the team as quickly as possible, Monroe will be wearing the Purple and Gold next season. Monroe will be the perfect companion to Gasol in the paint, and will take some of the scoring pressure off of him.

1. The Lakers Will Trade Their Draft Pick to the Nets for Deron Williams

There is no secret that Williams wants to be a Los Angeles Laker, and the team will trade the seventh pick in the draft to obtain him. The Lakers need a starting point guard, and Williams will be a perfect fit in Hollywood.

No way they trade their pick for Williams. Too old at this point to waste a high draft pick on.

You are totally wrong. five out of five

My five predictions may be better than yours:
    1) Lakers will make the playoff
    2) Kobe is healthy enough to last for the whole season and he will come back and take a pay cut
    3) Ed Davis becomes the pleasant surprise and becomes the starting center.
    4) Jeremy Lin will be the starting point guard and he will come back again for the 2015 season.
    5) The 2015 season will be the season that the Lakers becomes a contender building on a solid 2014 season. (Steve Nash and Kobe take a pay cut); They are going to sign a super free agent to take them to the final rounds of playoff.
