Dallas Mavericks Rumors: Potential Trade for Tyson Chandler Could Mean Eric Bledsoe’s Next
Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Dallas Mavericks are on the cusp of getting back center Tyson Chandler from the New York Knicks. The players going to New York in the potential deal appear to be point guards Jose Calderon and Shane Larkin and center Samuel Dalembert.
This is obviously big news for the Mavericks. In what could be the first blockbuster trade of the offseason, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appears to be bent on correcting a previous error by making a deal with the devil, Knicks president Phil Jackson. Chandler, of course, was instrumental in the Mavericks’ only NBA title back in 2011. Cuban chose not to re-sign Chandler, which appeared to have a ripple effect on his team.
But now it looks like Chandler, who appeared to have found a home with the Mavericks in 2011, is on his way back. Raymond Felton also appears to be part of the deal, but that’s probably just for financial purposes. Should the Mavericks complete this trade, while solidifying the center position, it would blow a monster hole at point guard.
The Mavericks, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com, are seriously interested in Phoenix Suns point guard sensation Eric Bledsoe. The Suns have expressed their desire to bring back Bledsoe, but have not confirmed whether or not they are willing to give Bledsoe a max contract.
Either way, it appears Cuban isn’t playing any games this offseason. The Mavericks appear to be getting back their identity of shaking things up and making moves. There will be more to come on this particular story as it develops.
