With one day left to go before the official beginning of the NBA free agency period, the sports world is very much aware of the rumors surrounding the likely destinations of the biggest names on the market like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Here are predictions on the ultimate landing spots of the five best players set to be available in free agency.

Chris Bosh has made it known that he's willing to take a pay cut to remain with the Miami Heat. He clearly loves playing there and it doesn't hurt that Florida has no individual income tax.

Prediction: Bosh re-signs with the Heat.

4. Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade has declined precipitously, no longer resembling anything near the dominant, athletic marvel that he was five or six years ago. Injuries have become a major problem for him. Still, Wade remains one of the league's best shooting guards when he does manage to stay on the court, and he'll get a nice contract for that. It's hard to see him playing anywhere other than Miami.

Prediction: Wade re-signs with the Heat.

3. Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki has made clear his desire to return to the Dallas Mavericks, and apparently he is very open to taking a significant discount to do so. Nowitzki is a breath of fresh air in a league that is otherwise filled to the brim with superstar mercenaries.

Prediction: Nowitzki re-signs with the Mavericks.

2. Carmelo Anthony

The primary suitors for Carmelo Anthony are the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks. Anthony will meet with the Bulls when free agency begins, continuing a trend that has indicated his chief interest lies in Chicago. Anthony will be the most interesting player to watch in free agency by far.

Prediction: Anthony signs with the Bulls.

According to reports, LeBron James is looking for a max contract. That all but eliminates the Rockets, Bulls and a number of other potential contenders for James' services. As is the case with Bosh and Wade, it has become very tough to imagine any scenario where LeBron leaves Miami.

Prediction: James re-signs with the Heat.
