The Los Angeles Clippers would probably love to win the LeBron James sweepstakes this summer. Landing the best player in the NBA or not, picking up Paul Pierce would be a great move. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, there is a good chance that Pierce could be taking his talents to L.A., and no, I do not mean the Los Angeles Lakers.
Clippers, I’m told, believe they have real chance of stealing Paul Pierce away from Nets now that Jason Kidd no longer coaching in Brooklyn

Pierce may seem a bit washed up to some fans; however, he did average 13.5 points per game this past season. Not to mention, his veteran leadership would be a huge blessing to any team. Oh yeah, he would also be playing for former Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers if this did go down.
L.A. already has two stars in Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, but neither player has won an NBA championship. Heck, neither player has even made it to the NBA Finals.
Who knows what role Pierce would play if he did make the switch from the Brooklyn Nets to the Lakers, but he would definitely not be counted on to lead the team to a championship. Some valuable minutes off the bench would probably be the most likely scenario, but you never know.
Regardless, Jason Kidd going to the Milwaukee Bucks is apparently already having an impact on the NBA.
The Clippers have definitely been on the rise over the last few years and are now one of the best teams in the league. That will stay the case as long as Paul and Griffin stay on the team. You never know, the signing of Paul Pierce could lead to a championship in the upcoming season.
