While NBA free agency seems to be the talk around the sports world right now, it’s not only the free agents that are making headlines. Some teams are looking to make serious upgrades via trade. The Indiana Pacers are one of those teams and Goran Dragic is a name that is being linked to them.
The Phoenix Suns have been a team that has been linked to guys like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony this offseason, they do not have the kind of money to go after those guys and keep both Eric Bledsoe and Dragic.
According to ESPN‘s Marc Stein, the Pacers are a team that is very interested in taking Dragic off the Suns’ hands.
Indiana Pacers, I’m told, have tried to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Goran Dragic, but teams have found no common deal ground. Yet

This could be a huge move by the Pacers if they were able to acquire Dragic — a guy who can play both the point and the shooting guard position.
Sure, the Pacers already have George Hill, but he has even admitted that he is not a true point guard. Averaging 10.3 points and 3.5 assists last season for the conference-leading Pacers was beneficiary, but the team could use a guy like Dragic to really direct the offense.
Dragic averaged 20.3 points and 5.9 assists in 2013-14 with the suns and he has the potential to dish around seven or eight assists per game on a regular basis. Don’t sleep on his deadly three-point shooting, either.
If the Pacers can get a deal done with the Suns, they will become serious favorites in the Eastern Conference — prior to any move by LeBron James.
The Pacers are very serious about getting stronger.
