With the latest rumors swirling around that LeBron James could be playing for a different team in the 2014-15 season, Chris Bosh should start testing the free-agent waters as well. Like it or not, the waters may be testing him here shortly.

Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James were all supposed to meet up, talk contracts and get back on the same team — or something like that — this offseason. At first, it seemed like that was the case. However, you could say that James is taking a slightly different route.

Now, I do not blame LeBron for wanting to see other offers, but if he is going to see other offers, then Bosh should as well. He still has many great seasons left and he would be a huge addition to any team in the league, especially the Rockets.

If Wade wants to test free agency, then so be it; however, I see him starting and finishing his career with the Heat.

Let’s face the facts: Wade has seen better days and James could be gone in a year or two even if he does sign with Miami this offseason. If that is the case, then why would Bosh want to stay with the Heat? Maybe he does, but why not join a team that will compete for many years to come? I guess he would be the man in Miami if James did eventually leave, so there is that.

Miami will definitely compete next season if the Big 3 return, but there is no guarantee of that happening. That has never been more true than right now. I think Bosh, Wade and James will all end up in South Beach next year, but it wouldn’t hurt for Bosh to test out the market.
