With LeBron James' free agent status up in the air, there has been quite a bit of speculation that Chris Bosh may choose to leave the Miami Heat and sign with the Houston Rockets. Bosh has had a direct conversation with the Rockets about a potential contract, and they are reported to be the favorite to sign him if LeBron moves on from Miami. Here are 5 reasons why Bosh would be correct to take his talents to Houston.

Bosh was born in Dallas and lived in Texas until he went to college at Georgia Tech. The Rockets are thin at power forward and would prefer to start someone more proven than Terrence Jones. Bosh would get to play close to home and have a huge role on his new team.

4. Less Pressure

While signing Bosh would definitely vault Houston into the "genuine championship contender" category, there would be much less pressure to win than there was in Miami. It's possible that nothing in the basketball world will ever match the absurd expectations that the public held for the Heat from 2011-14. The Rockets, however good they might be with Bosh, would never face that kind of irritating and stress-inducing scrutiny.

With Dwyane Wade in major decline and the rest of the Heat roster offering next to nothing, Miami has become the Bosh and James show. Signing in Houston gives Bosh two legitimate stars to feed off of in James Harden and Dwight Howard as well as some other solid players to work with like Jones, Patrick Beverley and possibly Chandler Parsons.

With the aforementioned supporting cast, it'd be very hard to stop the Rockets in the Western Conference if Bosh signs there; the only team that would be on their level would be the San Antonio Spurs. A move to Houston offers Bosh a great opportunity to add to his championship ring collection.

Bosh would have to take a significant discount to stay with the Heat. Houston, meanwhile, can toss four years and more than $ 80 million his way if it trades Jeremy Lin. Bosh has already taken one contract below his market value, and it was when he signed with Miami in 2010. Having won two championships now, it makes a lot of sense to jump ship to Houston. The Rockets can offer him money and winning basketball; Miami can only give him the latter.
