LeBron James and the Miami Heat finally met Wednesday afternoon in Las Vegas, home of James’ Skills Academy camp. It was Pat Riley and James that met together for about an hour, and according to ESPN and sources, James has yet to make a decision. There’s not much to make from the situation other than the two sides finally met. What was said during that meeting is unknown, but the air sure was thick and tense, and Riley left it all on the table.
As the Cleveland Cavaliers made the cap space available for James in a three-team trade, there are still no guarantees in a happy homecoming for Cleveland and King James. As far as how the next steps go for the next 24-72 hours, that’s up to the imagination and interpretation. What I imagine to happen next is for James not only to sit down with his family and by himself, but for him to also meet with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, or at least have a phone call with the two.
In this giant puzzle known as NBA Free Agency, there is one person, one player, that holds the master key. We all know that as soon as James makes his move, it will all come tumbling down and the circus will be over. Whether that decision is South Beach or the unpredictable weather of Cleveland, James might not even have an answer to that yet. Whether Bosh will follow if the King return to the Heat is another question.
Expect James to contact Wade and Bosh in the near future, and then sit back, grab a snack, and watch the grand finale of 2014 free agency.
