LeBron James did it. He decided to take his talents to Cleveland. Sorry, Miami Heat fans. Now that the best player in the world is no longer in Miami, and Chris Bosh could be on his way out as well, let’s take a look at five best-case scenarios following King James’ decision.
This one is a stretch, but what if Shabazz Napier actually turns into a star? LeBron James wanted him on the team, so he clearly is a good player. Napier is one of the most NBA-ready rookies when it comes to point guards, and that could lead to a lot of success.
Landing a big-name free agent wouldn’t bring back the Big 3, but it would help some. That is especially true for next season.
I am always very optimistic about a player restoring his/her career. Danny Granger was an elite scorer for a couple of years, but he has been far from that the last few seasons. Granger is only 31, so he is still relatively young.
I don’t necessarily agree with a team tanking, but hey, if it works, it works. Maybe the Heat will go with this option, although I couldn’t see Pat Riley resorting to that.
Dwyane Wade still shows signs of his former self. Injuries have hurt his play quite a bit, but he is going to have to become the man in Miami once again. If Wade can somehow turn back the clock, Miami will be a playoff team. The East is that bad and Wade is that good.
