I’m one of those people who is convinced that the Cleveland Cavaliers will trade for Kevin Love in the near future. For that reason, I see no shame in looking ahead at what Cleveland’s starting five could look like with Love in the lineup. Check out a prediction for the starting five for the 2014-2015 season.

Kyrie Irving is on the cusp of being one of the best point guards in the league. Don’t be surprised if he is the best two years from now. Why do I say that? LeBron James simply makes players around him better. He’s going to take Irving under his wing and push him to new heights. If the Cavaliers want to win a championship, James knows he will need Irving to help get them there, which is why he will do everything he can to make him a solid PG.

Whatever you heard about Irving and Dion Waiters not getting along can be tossed out the window right now. With James on the team, these two players are going to become the best of friends on the court. Everyone knows how serious the situation is now after James publicly told the world he plans on bringing a title to Cleveland. Waiters may be the weak link among the five, but the 22-year-old still brings a nice shot to the table.

James is what will make the team, organization and city tick going forward. He returns with championship experience and a determination to do right by Cleveland. Unlike before, James also has a decent supporting cast that could get better as the summer goes on. There will be no room for error on any given night but James already knows that. He has to be at his very best every time he steps on the court if the Cavs want to win.

The one person that could turn the Eastern Conference upside down is Love. If the Cavaliers agree to make a trade with the Timberwolves for the power forward, the power will shift to Cleveland and instantly make them the favorites in the conference. No other team, not even the Miami Heat, will be able to stop them. Putting Love on the court with James would be devastating for opponents.

Anderson Varejao, who is James’ favorite teammate of all time, will do his best to stay healthy so that he can contribute on the court. The reality is his role will be a lot bigger than people think. The Cavaliers need a solid center who can control the boards, something Varejao has done very well in recent years. Once again, it will all come down to whether he can stay healthy enough to play a full season.
