Chicago Bulls Rumors: Trade For Kevin Love Would Change NBA Landscape
— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) July 22, 2014
Chicago is reportedly willing to part with Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler and ‘other assets’ to acquire Love. You have to believe the other assets would be a first-round draft pick, or possibly multiple future second-round picks. There’s no word at this time on how the Minnesota Timberwolves view the Bulls in the running for their franchise player, but you have to consider this a strong offer.
If the Bulls were able to acquire Love, it would give them one heck of a frontcourt. He’d join forces with Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah, which would give most of the league matchup problems. Sure, Gasol might get bumped to the bench and into a sixth man role, but that’s a good problem to have if you’re Chicago.
In addition to bumping Gasol to the bench, Doug McDermott would be counted on to play a larger offensive role in his rookie season. But given the massive amount of talent around him, you’d have to like McDermott’s chances of being successful right out of the gate.
Even if Derrick Rose‘s latest comeback attempt fails, the Bulls would still be near the top of the Eastern Conference with the addition of the game’s best PF.
Simply put, Love to the Bulls would change the landscape of the entire NBA. Stay tuned.
