The Kevin Love to Chicago Bulls rumors have been getting some serious heat. If the deal actually went down, the Bulls would part ways with some very good players, but hey, at least they would have Love. Let’s take a look at the starting five for the 2014-15 NBA season if this deal did go down.
Derrick Rose is a lock here no matter what happens. Rose will hopefully come back and become a star once again. If not, well, Chicago is going to have some problems in the scoring department, and in general.
Losing Jimmy Butler would probably have to happen if Chicago was to get Love. That isn’t exactly ideal, but Kirk Hinrich is more than capable of starting at the shooting guard position.
The Bulls could rotate Doug McDermott and Mike Dunleavy at this position, but I am going with McDermott as the starter on Day 1. If he meets expectations, he could be the scoring threat that this team desperately needs. He is one of the more NBA-ready rookies, so hopefully he can fill that void right away.
Kevin Love would instantly make the Chicago Bulls that much better in the scoring department. He did average 26.1 points per game last season. Pau Gasol would likely come off the bench if Love joined the team.
Like Rose, Joakim Noah is probably guaranteed to start. He did win the Defensive Player of the Year this past season, and is one of the top big men in the league. Him, Love and Gasol would make up a powerful frontcourt to say the least.
