Andrew Wiggins is officially a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. For now.

The No. 1 overall draft pick signed a deal that reportedly starts at $5.5 million per season, but it’s still unknown where exactly he’ll be playing those seasons. It’s either going to be in Cleveland alongside LeBron James, or in Minnesota alongside Ricky Rubio.

At this point the Cavs are still being labeled as the favorites to land Kevin Love via trade:

So while this deal will technically put the Love trade on hold, because Wiggins cannot be traded for 30 days, it doesn’t mean the two sides have given up on working something out.

However, this does open the door for a team to come in and make an offer to the T-Wolves that they can’t refuse. At the same time, the Cavs and T-Wolves could agree to a deal and then wait out the 30 days to make it official.

If another team was going to come forward with an offer for the PF, you’d think it would have happened by now. Love is still more than likely headed to Golden State, Chicago or Cleveland. But we’ve been saying that for how many weeks now?
