5 Landing Spots for Elton Brand

Elton Brand provided a great veteran presence off the bench in 2013-14 for the Atlanta Hawks. He was especially vital to the team's efforts to stay competitive upon All-Star C Al Horford's infamous injury. His consistent play at the power forward and center position makes him very desirable for many teams around the league, if the price is right.

Detroit Pistons President and head coach Stan Van Gundy has been adamant about moving either Josh Smith or Greg Monroe. Smith has recently stated that Van Gundy had informed him that he will not be traded. This lends to the belief that Detroit will certainly make a deal to send Monroe elsewhere. This move would leave a gap at the PF position. Brand is a great option to add immediate remedy once Monroe is moved.

The Chicago Bulls are in the heat of trade talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves in pursuit of Kevin Love. They seem to be losing the race to the Cleveland Cavaliers whom have much more to offer. The Bulls released Carlos Boozer and then signed the highly sought after Pau Gasol, yet there is still a need for experience in the backup spots. Elton Brand would provide a solid defensive minded veteran down low to backup Joakim Noah.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been very active this offseason and have made some key acquisitions in Carlos boozer and Julius Randle at the PF positions. Jordan Hill is a solid starter at the center spot, but the Lakers are lacking in depth. Elton Brand is a great defensive option and can fill that void off the bench at a really desirable price.

The New York Knicks have been very actively pursuing Elton Brand via NBA sources. The primary speculation is that the Knicks are looking to move some current players and clear some cap space. The addition of veteran center Brand would provide the Knicks with a reputable backup once they do decide to make those trades.

Elton Brand was worth every penny once Al Horford's season-ending injury occurred. The Hawks have renewed their interest in re-signing Brand, but I believe the price will have to be quite lower. If Brand accepts a smaller contract, then I certainly see him returning to the Hawks. Atlanta also has a formidable younger PF in Mike Scott, who has yet to be re-signed. One of these guys will be back, but it is unlikely that both will be added.

Paul George is the type of player we have come to expect incredible plays from, but what he did against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night was truly remarkable. Al Horford Emphatically Posterizes Pacers' Solomon Hill

Al Horford clearly isn't letting all the trade rumors he's been involved of late get in the way of business out on the hardwood. On Friday night against the Indiana Pacers, Horford emphatically posterized Solomon Hill with a massive dunk, and NBA aficionados nationwide lost their collective mind on the Internet.
