Kobe Bryant has seen better days as a basketball player, and I fear the end is near for the "Black Mamba." The good thing for Bryant is that he will have a brilliant business career. A lot of his qualities as a player could be detrimental to that kind of lifestyle, but the positives will ultimately outweigh the negatives. Here are five reasons why Bryant is going to be fantastic financially in his post-basketball career.
Bryant's investment in a nutrition drink did not go unnoticed by me, and it will be fun to see what ends up happening with that company. Expect him to follow in Magic Johnson's footsteps as a businessman. I would not be shocked to see Bryant become an owner one day.
Bryant certainly has some money to invest. His two-year extension with the Lakers will ensure that he never has to work another day in his life, but Bryant is a workaholic who won't be satisfied with just what he has.
Michael Jordan was a notorious gambler and card player during his career, but you do not hear the same things about Bryant. That means the Mamba has probably saved most of his money, and he is not hurting when it comes to endorsement opportunities either.
This is one of the things that make Bryant such a great player, because he is never afraid to take the big shot. This could be dangerous in a business career, however, Bryant is smart enough that it will not to be an issue for him.
It helps as a businessman to have a full rolodex, and Bryant has that part covered pretty well. He is also not afraid to take advice, which will help him immensely later on. There is a long list of Los Angeles celebrities who would love to help him out, but it still remains to be seen what businesses he will dive into.
