The Miami Heat currently have 13 players signed to contracts for the start of the upcoming NBA season. There are still two available spots left on the roster, and a plethora of available free agents left on the market. The Heat still have a great chance of defending the Eastern Conference title, and who they sign to these last two spots could be the difference in that success. Here are five free agents the Miami Heat should still pursue.

5. MarShon Brooks

The Miami Heat are in desperate need of depth at the shooting guard position, and MarShon Brooks could be a nice complement for the second unit. If he receives consistent minutes with Miami, Brooks could average numbers closer to what he had in New Jersey his first season (12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game).

4. Chris Douglas Roberts

Wing depth is a top priority for the Miami Heat franchise, and finding a guard-forward who can defend the perimeter well would be ideal. Chris Douglas Roberts would fit this profile. He has averaged 7.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists over his career, and if he could average over 20 minutes a game for Miami, he could bring in this types of numbers on a nightly basis.

3. Andray Blatche

Even with all the new additions to the frontcourt, the Miami Heat are still in need of an aggressive center who can grab rebounds, yet hold their own on the offensive side of the ball. Blatche could fit this role perfectly. The nine-year veteran center isn’t the fastest player up and down the court, but he has the ability to grab timely rebounds, plus finish strong around the rim.

2. Greg Oden

If the Miami Heat are looking for sheer size, taking another gamble on Greg Oden is a no-brainer, especially if he is willing to sign another contract for the veterans minimum. Although he didn’t have much of an impact last season for Miami, he at least proved he was durable enough to make it through a full season. That alone is enough to be considered a success.

1. Jordan Crawford

Out of all the remaining free agents left at the guard position, Jordan Crawford is at the top of the list. If the Miami Heat are serious about bringing in quality depth to back up Dwyane Wade, Pat Riley has to convince Crawford to take a smaller contract to play for a title contender. Crawford has been a solid role player throughout his career, and he could really help stabilize the shooting guard position for Miami this season.
