Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie has made it clear his success plan is built for the future rather than the present. He’s actually building a team that simply cannot win right now and is focused on stockpiling assets. Well, free agency is dwindling down to his last few worthy pickups, and there are some left that could greatly benefit the Sixers’ rebuilding efforts.

Throughout his long and illustrious career, Chauncey Billups has compiled everything from an NBA title to a Finals MVP award and five All-Star appearances. But more than anything, Billups has been a textbook professional, and the Sixers' young ROY winner Michael Carter-Williams could learn more than enough having a mentor like Billups in the locker room.

Michael Beasley possesses endless talent and mind-boggling athleticism, yet for whatever reason, his last three seasons have shown disappointment. Sam Hinkie loves adding assets, and for a team that has no true established talent outside of Thaddeus Young, adding Beasley with Young on his way out the door could be a huge stepping stone toward the rebuilding process.

The Sixers desperately need a proven scorer and a go-to-option, which is exactly what Jordan Crawford can bring to The City of Brotherly Love. Crawford provides the long-range touch and clutch gene the Sixers have lacked for countless seasons now, in addition to being a veteran who could greatly help a young team. Go for it, Hinkie.

After seeing very minimal opportunity in Golden State, Kent Bazemore established himself as a worthy option for an NBA roster spot. Although his restricted status makes it unlikely the Lakers will let him loose, if Hinkie has the opportunity, he must jump on the chance to snag a young shooting guard with great upside as a scorer.

Philadelphia’s roster is paper thin at shooting guard to the point where it wouldn’t be surprising to see rookie Jordan McRae see a significant number of starts. That said, MarShon Brooks has never really had much of an opportunity to shine and display what he can do as a scorer. It’s a great time to experiment in Philly and see what he could become this season.
