Utah Jazz: 5 Free Agents Team Should Still Pursue

With their young core already in place and having just picked up the second-year option on combo guard Ian Clark, the Utah Jazz have nearly completed their roster for the upcoming season. With essentially one spot left to fill and conventional wisdom being that they need either a veteran wing or an experienced third point guard, here are five free agents still on the market that GM Dennis Lindsey might consider.

Ronnie Brewer has one of the ugliest jump shots the league has ever seen and has been relegated to the end of various benches since his knee surgery in 2012. A return to the place where he played his best basketball with a chance to serve as a mentor for Rodney Hood could be just what the doctor ordered.

In his last season with the Bulls, Rip Hamilton found himself completely out of the team's rotation. After taking a year off, he has said he wants to play again. For the Jazz, he could be a Richard Jefferson-esque reclamation project who comes in and proves to contenders that he can still play without stealing major minutes from the likes of Hood, Dante Exum or Gordon Hayward.

3. Ronnie Price

While Ronnie Price is probably less apt to throw down on Carlos Boozer or anybody else at this point, he's a guy who is good in the locker room, good in the community and would provide hard-nosed defensive effort and emergency minutes at the one or the two spot.

2. Francisco Garcia

Rumored to be on the Jazz's radar earlier this summer, Francisco Garcia is the kind of "Three-and-D" wing that could provide Utah better depth at the small forward position. He may also still be on the radar of some of the contending teams.

Like Price, Leandro Barbosa is somebody who can man either guard spot and help provide guidance to Dante Exum. His defensive prowess is lacking at this point, but last year with the Phoenix Suns he proved he still has the ability to provide speed and scoring off the bench. For a team that needs shooting, his career 39 percent from downtown is also attractive.
