You know when you tell a joke and everyone in the room is laughing except for you? Yes, mental health issues can affect even a funny man.
The passing of Robin Williams (may he rest in peace) has brought the seriousness of depression into every household that grew up watching Popeye, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire and Aladdin. Having hosted a few comedy shows, I know that the comedic world can sometimes be a safe place to share a good laugh about life’s realest struggles. But as soon as the lights turn off and everyone goes home, you are stuck with your own thoughts. All jokes aside, my psychologist has helped me get through some of my toughest moments.
