There may be no team in the NBA that the general public is more excited to watch on a game-to-game basis than the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the return of LeBron James to his hometown and the likely arrival of Kevin Love, it’s not hard to imagine why. These five games are the ones fans of Cleveland and of good basketball should keep an eye on.

Chicago could be one of the teams competing with the Cavs atop the Eastern Conference. If that’s the case, the matchup towards the end of the year between the two squads could be huge for postseason positioning.

4. Vs. San Antonio Spurs (11/19/2014)

Though the Cavs were nowhere near the Spurs and the Finals last year, but LeBron James certainly was. LeBron’s rematch with the Spurs early in the 2014-15 season will be huge for the confidence of the Cavs and their perception going forward.

The Cavs and LeBron start their season out on the 30th at home, but their first test is one day later as they play the Bulls on Halloween. As I said, the Bulls will be a serious player in the East this year and Cleveland will have a solid chance to see how they measure up to some of their best competition.

Kevin Love being traded isn’t official, but it seems like a formality at this point. When the trade does happen, the Cavs matching up with the Wolves will likely be an emotional matchup, even if it will almost undoubtedly be a tad one-sided.

There’s no question that the matchup between the Heat and Cavs is going to be full of fire and ill feelings after LeBron went back to Cleveland. Throw in the fact that the game is on the most high-profile day in the regular season, this is going to be a titanic matchup.
