The 2014-15 season is steadily inching closer, and with NBA training camp just around the corner, we have begun to anticipate what this upcoming season will look like. The Chicago Bulls have made many improvements this offseason, and with the return of Derrick Rose, they have set lofty expectations for themselves that include championship aspirations. These are five bold predictions for the Bulls in the 2014-15 season.
The Bulls' success hinges on the health of Derrick Rose, and if he can remain healthy the entire season there is no reason to believe he can't average at least 22 points and seven assists per game. This is the most talent Rose has ever had around him, and he will utilize the players he has available.
Although Jimmy Butler was a lockdown defender, he failed to make the jump offensively that many hoped he would in his third NBA season. Expect his jumper and three-point shot to be much improved from last season after he shot 40 percent from the field and 28 percent from three.
Doug McDermott is NBA-ready, and he is going to surprise a lot of people this season. Andrew Wiggins is still raw and Jabari Parker and Nerlens Noel will be the favorites going into the 2014-15 season. McDermott will thrive on a Bulls team filled with talent.
The last season Derrick Rose was fully healthy, the Bulls won 62 games. This season, on paper, the Bulls have an even more talented roster than they had in the 2010-11 season.
The biggest challenger to the Bulls in the Eastern Conference is LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, but look for the Bulls to finish ahead of them in the Central Division and take the No. 1 seed in the East.
