When you mention the Boston Celtics, you think of NBA legends. The Celtics are in rebuilding mode right now, but over the years, they've been one of the best franchises in NBA history with more championships (17) than any other club. There's been no shortage in point guard talent for the Celtics either, so let's take a look at who makes it onto their all-time top five PG list.

Standing barely 6-feet tall, Nate "Tiny" Archibald had no difficulty finding the basket as he led the NBA in scoring and assists in the 1972-73 season for the Kansas City-Omaha Kings. However, Tiny never won a ring until he joined up with the Boston Celtics, and in the 1980-81 season, he accomplished his dream goal of becoming an NBA champion. He was a three-time All-Star, and that makes him good enough to be on this list.

Even though he wants to be traded, Rajon Rondo has to go down as one of the best point guards in the history of the franchise. Boston's "Big 3" of Pierce, Garnett and Allen received a lot of praise when they won the title in 2008, but Rondo was on the verge of stardom. The following season, he emerged as a nightly triple-double threat as he displayed his improved ability to rebound, pass and score. When healthy, he's one of the best in the game.

3. Dennis Johnson

You can't spell defense without the "D" and Dennis Johnson was a superb defender for the Boston Celtics. DJ joined the Celtics in the 1983-84 NBA season, and he went on to win two additional rings to the first one he earned as a SuperSonic in 1979. Most point guards are known for their distributing skills, but Johnson was known for guarding the likes of Michael Jordan, and he finished his career as a four-time member of the All-Defensive Team.

As a two-time champion and an NBA Finals MVP, Joseph Henry "Jo Jo" White was one of the greatest players to ever wear the green and white for the Boston Celtics. White was known for his durability, since he didn't missed one game over a five-year span from 1973-77. Therefore, it was a big surprise when he got hurt in the 1997-78 season, so the Celtics ultimately traded him to the GSW the very next season. However, White is a Celtic for life.

When they name an award after you, you're a certified legend, and Bob Cousy comes in as the undisputed No. 1 PG in Celtics history. Cousy played in the "glory days" of coach Red Auerbach's Celtics; a time when Boston was virtually unbeatable in the postseason, and as a result, Cousy won six championships over a seven-year span. Cousy also won the league MVP award in 1957 and he still holds the franchise record in assists (6,955).
